I grew up in the Northeast suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, where I currently reside. After graduating high school, I joined the Navy and proudly served my country for nearly 20 years, rising through the enlisted ranks to becoming a Lieutenant Commander Supply Corps Officer, while earning several advanced degrees and a number of distinguished military awards and medals.
As a naturally gifted poet, I have always been drawn to literature and world history. My military service afforded me the opportunity to fulfill my childhood dreams to travel the world, and my exposure to an array of multi-ethnic cultures and nationalities is an experience I will treasure for a lifetime.
After leaving the Navy, I decided to pursue my calling, and passion for writing poetry, which also serves as "Self-Help" therapy.
When I am not writing, reading, researching, blogging, or advocating for military veterans, I am likely spending time with my family or enjoying the pleasures of Mother Nature. I also enjoy recording spoken word poetry, photography art, yoga, Spiritual meditation-dance therapy, and nature walks.
